Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)
एवं स तत्र गूढात्मा कंचित् कालमुवास ह । कुमारास्त्वथ निष्क्रम्प समेता गजसाह्दयात्,इस प्रकार द्रोणने वहाँ अपने आपको छिपाये रखकर कुछ कालतक निवास किया। तदनन्तर एक दिन कौरव-पाण्डव सभी वीर कुमार हस्तिनापुरसे बाहर निकलकर बड़ी प्रसन्नताके साथ मिलकर वहाँ गुल्ली-डंडा खेलने लगे। उस समय खेलमें लगे हुए उन कुमारोंकी वह बीटा कुएँमें गिर पड़ी
evaṁ sa tatra gūḍhātmā kañcit kālam uvāsa ha | kumārās tv atha niṣkramya sametā gajasāhvayāt |
ಹೀಗೆ ದ್ರೋಣನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಗುಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಕೆಲಕಾಲ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು. ನಂತರ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಗಜಸಾಹ್ವಯ (ಹಸ್ತಿನಾಪುರ)ದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಕೌರವ-ಪಾಂಡವ ಕುಮಾರರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಸೇರಿದರು.
