ಹಿಮಾದ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆನಕೆಯ ಗರ್ಭದಿಂದ ಅವನು ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ ಪಡೆದನು; ಆಗ ರುದ್ರನು ‘ಔರ್ವ’ ಎಂಬ ಸಂಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು. “ಅವನು ಊರ್ಧ್ವರೇತಾ ಆಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅವನು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಊರ್ಧ್ವರೇತಾ ಆದನು.
