Viṣṇu-pūjāvidhi: Śuddhi, Nyāsa, Dhyāna, Āsana-devatā Pūjā, Upacāras, and Stotra
सर्वव्याधिहरश्चैव सर्वग्रहहरस्तथा / सर्वपापहरश्चैव बुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदायकः
sarvavyādhiharaścaiva sarvagrahaharastathā / sarvapāpaharaścaiva buktimuktipradāyakaḥ
Lord Vishnu (in dialogue with Garuda/Vinatā-putra)
Concept: Viṣṇu-mantra as sarva-doṣa-hara: removes physical illness, astral afflictions, and sin; grants both enjoyment and liberation—integrating artha/kāma with dharma and mokṣa under devotion.
Vedantic Theme: Īśvara as both abhyudaya (worldly welfare) and niḥśreyasa (ultimate good); pāpa-kṣaya as preparation for mokṣa; grace (anugraha) mediated through nāma/mantra.
Application: When facing illness, anxiety, or perceived ‘graha’ pressures, combine japa with ethical living and medical care; use the mantra as a stabilizing daily practice aimed at purification and clarity.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.31.5 (the mantra); Garuda Purana 1.31.7-8 (nyāsa/mudrā as protective ‘kavaca’-like support)
This verse highlights the deity/mantra being praised as a comprehensive protector—removing illness at the physical level while also addressing deeper karmic and spiritual causes.
By stating that sins are destroyed and liberation is granted, the verse links purification (pāpa-kṣaya) with the soul’s capacity to progress beyond bondage toward mukti.
Use it as a reminder to pair outer remedies (health and stability) with inner discipline—ethical living, prayer/recitation, and repentance—aiming for both well-being (bhukti) and spiritual freedom (mukti).
