पथि सूले तदा प्रोतमचौरं चौरशङ्कया / माण्डव्यमतिदुः खार्तमन्धकारे ऽथ स द्विजः

ಆಗ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರಪರಾಧನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕಳ್ಳನೆಂಬ ಶಂಕೆಯಿಂದ ಶೂಲಕ್ಕೆ ತೂರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆ ವೇಳೆ ದ್ವಿಜ ಮಾಣ್ಡವ್ಯನು ಅತಿದುಗುಡದಿಂದ ಪೀಡಿತನಾಗಿ ಅಂಧಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದವನಂತೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
