उपवासेन भैक्ष्येण नैवाद्बादशिको भवेत् / कास्यं मांसं तथा क्षौद्रं लोभं वितथभाषणम्

ಕೇವಲ ಉಪವಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಭಿಕ್ಷಾಹಾರದಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ‘ದ್ವಾದಶಿಕ’ನಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಾಸ್ಯಪಾತ್ರ, ಮಾಂಸ, ಜೇನು, ಲೋಭ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಳ್ಳು ಮಾತು—ಇವನ್ನೂ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಬೇಕು.
