दमघोषसुत: पाप आरभ्य कलभाषणात् । सम्प्रत्यमर्षी गोविन्दे दन्तवक्रश्च दुर्मति: ॥ १८ ॥

ದಮಘೋಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪಾಪಾತ್ಮ ಶಿಶುಪಾಲನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ—ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರದ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ—ಗೋವಿಂದನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದನು; ಮರಣದವರೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮೇಲೆ ದ್ವೇಷವನ್ನೇ ಪೋಷಿಸಿದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರ ದಂತವಕ್ರನೂ ದುರ್ಮತಿಯಾಗಿ ಅದೇ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದನು.
