Bhagīratha Brings Gaṅgā; Saudāsa’s Curse; Khaṭvāṅga’s Instant Renunciation

एवं मित्रसहं शप्‍त्वा पतिलोकपरायणा । तदस्थीनि समिद्धेऽग्नौ प्रास्य भर्तुर्गतिं गता ॥ ३६ ॥

evaṁ mitrasahaṁ śaptvā pati-loka-parāyaṇā tad-asthīni samiddhe ’gnau prāsya bhartur gatiṁ gatā

ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಪತಿವ್ರತೆಯು ಮಿತ್ರಸಹನೆಂಬ ರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಶಾಪ ನೀಡಿ, ತನ್ನ ಪತಿಯ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ, ತಾನೂ ಆ ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ಹಾರಿ ಪತಿಯ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದಳು.
