वृद्धं तं पञ्चतां प्राप्तं महिष्यनुमरिष्यती । और्वेण जानतात्मानं प्रजावन्तं निवारिता ॥ ३ ॥

Transliteration

vṛddhaṁ taṁ pañcatāṁ prāptaṁ mahiṣy anumariṣyatī aurveṇa jānatātmānaṁ prajāvantaṁ nivāritā

Translation

ಬಾಹುಕನು ವೃದ್ಧಾವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣಿಸಿ ಪಂಚತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ಪತ್ನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಸತೀವ್ರತದಂತೆ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮರಣಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಳು; ಆದರೆ ಔರ್ವ ಮುನಿಯು ಅವಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವಳನ್ನು ತಡೆದನು.
