एकशतं विष्कन्धानि विष्ठिता पृथिवीमनु । तेषां त्वामग्रे उज्जहरुर्मणिं विष्कन्धदूषणम्

IAST Transliteration

ékaśataṃ víṣkandhāni víṣṭhitā pṛthivī́m ánu | téṣāṃ tvām ágre újjahur máṇiṃ viṣkandha-dū́ṣaṇam ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

A hundred are the viṣkandha-plagues, set fast throughout the Earth. From them they brought thee forth, in front—the amulet, spoiler of viṣkandha.

Translation

ಭೂಮಿಯೆಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ವಿಷ್ಕಂಧ (viṣkandha) ಎಂಬ ಉಪದ್ರವ-ರೋಗಗಳು ನೂರು. ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಂಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರತಂದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು—ವಿಷ್ಕಂಧವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ಮಣಿ (ತಾಯಿತ).
