Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva’s yogic-ritual discipline as taught in the Kailasa Samhita)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It emphasizes that Shaiva practice is not casual: the seeker (disciple) must learn correct yogic discipline and become firm in vrata (regulated observance), using outer purity to support inner steadiness on the path toward Shiva (Pati).
By prescribing readiness through discipline and purification, the verse frames Linga/Saguna-Shiva worship as a qualified practice: bodily and mental order help the devotee approach Shiva’s presence with steadiness, reverence, and ritual fitness.
It points to learning the yogapaṭṭa method (a yogic band/support used for stable posture and practice) and undertaking kṣaura (shaving) as a purification rite, indicating preparation for deeper worship, japa, and yogic concentration.
