उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
असन्तो< भ्यर्थिता: सद्धिः क्वचित्कार्ये कदाचन । मन्यन्ते सन््तमात्मानमसन्तमपि विश्रुतम्,कभी किसी कार्यमें सज्जनोंद्वारा प्रार्थित होनेपर दुष्टलोग अपनेको प्रसिद्ध दुष्ट जानते हुए भी सज्जन मानने लगते हैं
asanto 'bhyarthitāḥ saddhiḥ kvacit kārye kadācana | manyante santam ātmānam asantam api viśrutam ||
វិទុរៈមានពាក្យថា៖ ពេលខ្លះ នៅពេលមនុស្សអាក្រក់ត្រូវបានមនុស្សល្អអង្វរ សុំឲ្យជួយក្នុងកិច្ចការណាមួយ ពួកគេក៏ចាប់ផ្តើមគិតថាខ្លួនជាសុចរិត—ទោះបីជាពិតប្រាកដមិនសុចរិត ហើយមានកេរ្តិ៍ឈ្មោះអាក្រក់ល្បីល្បាញក៏ដោយ។ ការអង្វរពីអ្នកធម៌អាចធ្វើឲ្យអ្នកអធម៌ភាន់ច្រឡំថា ការត្រូវបានសុំគឺស្មើនឹងភាពសមគួរ។
