एवं तदभवद् युद्ध तदा भरतसत्तम । संध्याकाले व्यतीते तु व्यपायात् स च मे गुरु:,भरतभूषण! इस प्रकार वह युद्ध चलता रहा। संध्याकाल बीतनेपर मेरे गुरु रणभूमिसे हट गये
evaṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ tadā bharatasattama | sandhyākāle vyatīte tu vyapāyāt sa ca me guruḥ ||
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ឱ អ្នកប្រសើរបំផុតក្នុងចំណោមពូជភារ័តៈ! សង្គ្រាមនោះបានបន្តទៅដូច្នេះ។ តែពេលព្រលប់ល្ងាចកន្លងផុតទៅ គ្រូរបស់ខ្ញុំក៏បានដកខ្លួនចេញពីសមរភូមិដែរ ឱ អលង្ការនៃភារ័តៈ!»
भीष्म उवाच
Even in warfare, conduct is bounded by dharmic limits—here signaled by the passing of sandhyā (evening junction)—and the relationship to one’s guru remains ethically weighty; the narrative underscores restraint, order, and reverence amid conflict.
Bhishma recounts that the fighting continued for a time, but once evening had passed, his guru (preceptor) withdrew from the battlefield, bringing that phase of combat to a close.
