उद्यन्तुं वा गदा गुर्वी: शरान् वा क्षेप्तुमाहवे । जवे लक्ष्यस्य हरणे भोज्ये पांसुविकर्षणे
udyantuṁ vā gadā gurvīḥ śarān vā kṣeptum āhave | jave lakṣyasya haraṇe bhojye pāṁsuvikarṣaṇe
ភីष្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «មិនថាក្នុងការលើក និងប្រើគោទាធ្ងន់ៗ ឬក្នុងការបោះព្រួញនៅសមរភូមិ; មិនថាក្នុងល្បឿន ការយកគោលដៅឲ្យបាន ការបង្ហាញកម្លាំង ឬការអូសទាញក្នុងធូលី—ក្នុងការសាកល្បងយុទ្ធទាំងអស់នោះ គេឈ្នះលើគេ។»
