प्रद्धिष्टस्य कुत: श्रेयो नाप्रियो लभते फलम् | वत्सौपम्येन दोग्धव्यं राष्ट्रमक्षीणबुद्धिना
praddhiṣṭasya kutaḥ śreyo nāpriyo labhate phalam | vatsaupamyena dogdhavyaṃ rāṣṭram akṣīṇabuddhinā ||
ភីស្មាបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «អ្នកដែលមនុស្សជាច្រើនស្អប់ខ្ពើម តើសេចក្តីសុខសាន្ត និងសេចក្តីចម្រើនអាចកើតមានដូចម្តេច? អ្នកគ្រប់គ្រងដែលមិនជាទីស្រឡាញ់របស់ប្រជារាស្ត្រ មិនទទួលបានផលប្រយោជន៍ពិតប្រាកដឡើយ។ ដូច្នេះ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រដែលវិចារណញ្ញាណមិនខូច គួរទាញយកការចិញ្ចឹមជីវិតពីរាជ្យដោយទន់ភ្លន់ និងបន្តិចម្តងៗ ដូចកូនគោបៅទឹកដោះពីមេគោ ដើម្បីមិនឲ្យនគររងគ្រោះ និងរក្សាចំណងជាមួយប្រជាជន»។
