त्रेतायुगादौ च ततो विवस्वान् मनवे ददौ । मनुश्न लोकभूत्यर्थ सुतायेक्ष्वाकवे ददौ,फिर त्रेतायुगके आरम्भमें सूर्यने मनुको और मनुने सम्पूर्ण जगत्के कल्याणके लिये अपने पुत्र इक्ष्वाकुको इसका उपदेश दिया
tretāyugādau ca tato vivasvān manave dadau | manuś ca lokabhūtyarthaṁ sutāyekṣvākave dadau ||
វៃសម្បាយនៈ បានមានពាក្យថា៖ «បន្ទាប់មក នៅដើមយុគ ត្រេតា ព្រះវិវស្វាន (ព្រះអាទិត្យ) បានប្រទានព្រះធម៌នេះដល់ មនុ; ហើយ មនុ ដើម្បីសេចក្តីសុខសាន្ត និងប្រយោជន៍របស់លោកទាំងមូល បានបង្រៀនវាដល់បុត្រារបស់ទ្រង់ ឥក្ស្វាគុ»។
