न किलातप्ततपसा शकक््यते द्रष्टमज्जसा । “वहाँके निवासियोंके तेजसे आँखें चौंधिया जानेके कारण हम वहाँ किसी पुरुषको देख नहीं पाते थे। तदनन्तर दैवयोगसे हमारे हृदयमें यह ज्ञान प्रकट हुआ कि तपस्या किये बिना हमलोग भगवानको सुगमतापूर्वक नहीं देख सकते
na kilātaptatapasā śakyate draṣṭum ajjasā |
ភីष្មបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ពិតប្រាកដណាស់ ដោយគ្មានតបៈ (ការអធិស្ឋាន-បង្អត់ខ្លួន) ដែលបានអនុវត្ត មិនអាចឃើញ (ព្រះអម្ចាស់) ដោយផ្ទាល់ និងដោយងាយស្រួលបានទេ។ ព្រោះតែពន្លឺរុងរឿងរបស់អ្នកស្នាក់នៅទីនោះ បានធ្វើឲ្យភ្នែកយើងភ្លឺចាំង ដូច្នេះយើងមិនអាចមើលឃើញបុរសណាម្នាក់បានឡើយ; បន្ទាប់មក ដោយការរៀបចំរបស់វាសនា ចំណេះដឹងនេះបានលេចឡើងក្នុងចិត្តយើងថា—ដោយគ្មានតបៈ យើងមិនអាចឃើញព្រះបានដោយងាយឡើយ»។
