व्यास उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम्‌ । अश्मगीतं नरव्याप्र तन्निबोध युधिष्ठिर,व्यासजी बोले--पुरुषसिंह युधिष्ठिर! इस प्रसंगमें जानकार लोग अभ्मा ब्राह्मणके गीतसम्बन्धी इस प्राचीन इतिहासका उदाहरण दिया करते हैं, इसे सुनो

Transliteration

vyāsa uvāca | atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṁ purātanam | aśmagītaṁ nara-vyāghra tan nibodha yudhiṣṭhira ||

Translation

ព្រះវិយាសៈមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ឱ យុធិષ્ઠិរ អ្នកដូចខ្លាដ៏ខ្លាំងក្នុងចំណោមមនុស្ស! ក្នុងករណីនេះផងដែរ អ្នកប្រាជ្ញទាំងឡាយតែងយកប្រវត្តិបុរាណមួយមកធ្វើជាគំរូ—រឿងដែលគេហៅថា ‘បទចម្រៀងរបស់អស្មា’។ ចូរស្តាប់ខ្ញុំរៀបរាប់»។
