जल, आकाश, पृथ्वी, वायु और अग्नि--इन भूतोंसे भिन्न कोई तत्त्व कभी नहीं था; इसमें संशय नहीं है ।।

Asita uvāca — jalaṃ ākāśaṃ pṛthvī vāyuś cāgniś ca—ebhyo bhūtebhyo bhinnaṃ kiñcid api tattvaṃ kadācana nāsīt; atra saṃśayo nāsti. nopapattyā na vā yuktyā tv asad brūyād asaṃśayam. vetthaitān abhinirvattān ṣaḍ ete yasya rāśayaḥ.

អសិតៈបាននិយាយថា៖ «ទឹក អាកាស ផែនដី ខ្យល់ និងភ្លើង—ក្រៅពីធាតុទាំងនេះ មិនដែលមានតत्त्वណាផ្សេងទៀតឡើយ; ក្នុងនេះគ្មានសង្ស័យ។ ដោយភស្តុតាងត្រឹមត្រូវ ឬដោយហេតុផលត្រឹមត្រូវណាមួយ ក៏មិនអាចបញ្ជាក់អ្វីដែលលើសពីធាតុទាំងនេះបានទេ។ ដូច្នេះ អ្នកណាដែលអះអាងទស្សនៈផ្សេងទៀត គឺនិយាយកុហកដោយមិនសង្ស័យ។ អ្នកដឹងធាតុទាំងប្រាំមួយនេះ ដូចដែលវាបង្ហាញខ្លួនក្នុងផលកម្មទាំងអស់ ហើយអ្នកក៏ដឹងប្រភពហេតុដែលផលទាំងនោះស្ថិតនៅក្នុងវាផងដែរ។»
