तृष्णाक्षय-उपदेशः

Instruction on the Cessation of Craving

श्रीहीन और आलसी पण्डितोंने कर्मोके त्यागसे मोक्ष मिलता है--ऐसा मत चलाया है। यह सुननेमें सत्य-सा आभासित होता है, परंतु है मिथ्या। इस मार्गमें किसीको वेदके सिद्धान्तोंका तनिक भी ज्ञान नहीं है ।।

śrīhīnā ālasī paṇḍitāḥ karmatyāgena mokṣo labhyata iti mataṃ pracāritavantaḥ; tac chravaṇe satyam iva pratibhāti, kintu mithyā. asmin mārge kasyacid api vedasiddhāntānāṃ kiñcid api jñānaṃ nāsti. na vai pāpair hriyate kṛṣyate vā yo brāhmaṇo yajate vedaśāstraiḥ | ūrdhvaṃ yajñaiḥ paśubhiḥ sārtham eti saṃtarpitas tarpayate ca kāmaiḥ ||

កបិលៈ «បណ្ឌិតក្រីក្រ និងខ្ជិលខ្ជាយខ្លះ បានផ្សព្វផ្សាយមតិថា ការលះបង់កម្ម នាំទៅមោក្សៈ។ ស្តាប់ទៅដូចពិត ប៉ុន្តែជាមិថ្យា; នៅលើផ្លូវនោះ មិនមានសូម្បីតែស្នាមនៃការយល់ដឹងអំពីសេចក្តីសន្និដ្ឋានរបស់វេទទេ។ ផ្ទុយទៅវិញ ព្រាហ្មណ៍ដែលអនុវត្តយជ្ញតាមវេទ និងវិន័យរបស់វា មិនអាចត្រូវបាបគ្រប់គ្រង ឬទាញចុះបានឡើយ។ ក្រោយធ្វើយជ្ញរួច គាត់ឡើងទៅលោកបុណ្យខ្ពស់ៗ ជាមួយផលបុណ្យនៃយជ្ញ និងសត្វដែលបានប្រើក្នុងពិធី; ហើយដោយខ្លួនឯងពេញចិត្តដោយភោគៈត្រឹមត្រូវ គាត់ក៏ធ្វើឲ្យអ្នកដទៃពេញចិត្តដែរ។»
