मनु-उपदेशः — भूत-उत्पत्ति, इन्द्रिय-निवृत्ति, तथा पर-स्वभाव-विवेकः
Manu’s Instruction on Elemental Origination, Sense-Withdrawal, and Discrimination of the Supreme Nature
रश्मीस्तेषां स मनसा यदा सम्यड्नियच्छति । तदा प्रकाशते<स्यात्मा घटे दीपो ज्वलन्निव
raśmīs teṣāṃ sa manasā yadā samyaṅ niyacchati | tadā prakāśate 'syātmā ghaṭe dīpo jvalann iva ||
ភីष្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ នៅពេលដែលមនុស្សម្នាក់ ដោយអាស្រ័យលើចិត្ត គ្រប់គ្រងកាំរស្មីរបស់អិន្ទ្រីយ៍ទាំងឡាយឲ្យបានត្រឹមត្រូវ នោះអាត្មាខាងក្នុងរបស់គេ នឹងភ្លឺច្បាស់ឡើង—ដូចចង្កៀងដែលកំពុងឆេះនៅក្នុងក្រឡ។ ព្រះធម៌នេះបង្ហាញថា វិន័យខាងក្នុងជាគោលដៅ៖ ការគ្រប់គ្រងសីលធម៌ចាប់ផ្តើមពីការគ្រប់គ្រងអិន្ទ្រីយ៍ដោយចិត្តដែលដឹកនាំបានល្អ ហើយពីការទប់ស្កាត់នោះ កើតមានការបំភ្លឺខ្លួនឯង មិនមែនការបង្ហាញខាងក្រៅទេ។
