Tapas as the Root of Attainment (तपः—साधनमूलप्रशंसा)
संरक्षति त्वां पवन: सखित्वेन न संशय: । तस्मात् त्व बहुशाखो5पि पर्णवान् पुष्पवानपि
saṃrakṣati tvāṃ pavanaḥ sakhitvena na saṃśayaḥ | tasmāt tvaṃ bahuśākho 'pi parṇavān puṣpavān api |
ភីष្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «គ្មានសង្ស័យឡើយថា ព្រះវាយុ (ទេវតានៃខ្យល់) កំពុងការពារអ្នក ព្រោះទ្រង់រាប់អ្នកជាមិត្ត។ ដូច្នេះហើយ អ្នកឈររុងរឿង មានមែកជាច្រើន ហើយតុបតែងដោយស្លឹក និងផ្កា»។
