Tapas, Tīrtha, and Moral Rehabilitation (Śānti-parva 148)
उपदिष्टो हि मे धर्म: कपोतेन महात्मना । “अब मैं पापसे मुह मोड़कर स्त्री, पुत्र तथा अपने प्यारे प्राणोंका भी परित्याग कर दूँगा। महात्मा कबूतरने मुझे विशुद्ध धर्मका उपदेश दिया है
upadiṣṭo hi me dharmaḥ kapotena mahātmanā |
ភីෂ្មៈបាននិយាយថា៖ «ពិតប្រាកដណាស់ ធម៌ត្រូវបានបង្រៀនដល់ខ្ញុំដោយសត្វព្រាបដ៏មានចិត្តធំ។ បង្វែរចេញពីបាប ខ្ញុំនឹងលះបង់សូម្បីតែភរិយា កូន និងដង្ហើមជីវិតដ៏ស្រឡាញ់របស់ខ្ញុំផង»។ ក្នុងការពិចារណានេះ រឿងរ៉ាវបង្ហាញថា សេចក្តីសុចរិតពិតអាចទាមទារការលះបង់ខ្ពស់បំផុត និងភាពច្បាស់លាស់ផ្លូវសីលធម៌អាចកើតឡើងពីគំរូរបស់សត្វតូចមួយផងដែរ។
