नर: पापसमाचारस्त्यक्तव्यो दूरतो बुध: । आत्मानं यो5भिसंधत्ते सोअन्यस्य स्यात् कथं हितः
naraḥ pāpasamācāras tyaktavyo dūrato budhaḥ | ātmānaṃ yo ’bhisandhatte so ’nyasya syāt kathaṃ hitaḥ ||
ភីෂ្មៈបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ បុរសណាដែលមានអាកប្បកិរិយាបាប គួរឲ្យអ្នកប្រាជ្ញបោះបង់ចោលពីឆ្ងាយ។ ព្រោះអ្នកណាដែលបោកបញ្ឆោតខ្លួនឯង—តើអាចជាអ្នកប្រាថ្នាល្អចំពោះអ្នកដទៃបានដូចម្តេច?
भीष्म उवाच
Wise people should keep distance from habitual wrongdoers, because someone who is false to his own conscience and self-understanding cannot reliably act for the welfare of others.
