एवं दण्डं प्रशंसन्ति पण्डितास्तत्त्वदर्शिन: । तस्माच्चतुष्टये तस्मिन् प्रधानो दण्ड उच्यते
Translation
ភីष្មបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ ដូច្នេះហើយ បណ្ឌិតទាំងឡាយដែលឃើញសច្ចធម៌ បានសរសើរ «ទណ្ឌ»។ ហេតុនេះ ក្នុងវិធីទាំងបួន—សាម (ការសម្របសម្រួល), ដាន (ការផ្តល់អំណោយ), ភេទ (ការបំបែកបំបាក់), និងទណ្ឌ (ការផ្តន្ទាទោស)—គេថា ទណ្ឌជាវិធីសំខាន់បំផុត។
