न तत्‌ तरेद्‌ यस्य न पारमुत्तरे- न्न तद्धरेद्‌ यत्‌ पुनराहरेत्‌ पर: । न तत्‌ खनेद्‌ यस्य न मूलमुद्धरे- न्न त॑ हन्याद्‌ यस्य शिरो न पातयेत्‌

Transliteration

na tat tared yasya na pāram uttare

na tad dhared yat punar āharet paraḥ |

na tat khaned yasya na mūlam uddharen

na taṁ hanyād yasya śiro na pātayet ||

Translation

ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «កុំហ៊ានឆ្លងអ្វីដែលគ្មានឆ្នេរផ្សេងទៀតឲ្យទៅដល់។ កុំយកអ្វីដែលអ្នកដទៃអាចយកត្រឡប់វិញបាន។ កុំជីកអ្វីដែលមិនអាចដកឡើងពីឫសដល់គល់បាន។ ហើយកុំវាយប្រហារអ្នកណាដែលមិនអាចធ្វើឲ្យក្បាលគេធ្លាក់ដល់ដីបាន។»
