Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)

तरसा ये न शक्यन्ते शस्त्रै: सुनिशितैरपि । साम्ना ते5पि निगृहान्ते गजा इव करेणुभि:,जो लोग बलपूर्वक तीखे शस्त्रोंसे भी वशमें नहीं किये जा सकते, उन्हें भी मीठी वाणीद्वारा बंदी बना लिया जाता है। जैसे हथिनियोंकी सहायतासे हाथी कैद कर लिये जाते हैं

tarasā ye na śakyante śastraiḥ suniśitair api | sāmnā te 'pi nigṛhyante gajā iva kareṇubhiḥ ||

ព្រះព្រហ្មទត្តបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «អ្នកខ្លះមិនអាចបង្ក្រាបដោយកម្លាំង ទោះប្រើអាវុធមុតស្រួចក៏ដោយ; តែអាចគ្រប់គ្រងបានដោយសាមគ្គី ការលួងលោម និងពាក្យទន់ភ្លន់។ ដូចដំរីធំៗត្រូវបានចាប់ដោយជំនួយដំរីញី»។
