पश्येदुपायान् विविधै: क्रियापथै- न चानुपायेन मतिं निवेशयेत् । श्रियं विशिष्टां विपुलं यशो धनं न दोषदर्शी पुरुष: समश्चुते
paśyed upāyān vividhaiḥ kriyāpathair na cānupāyena matiṁ niveśayet | śriyaṁ viśiṣṭāṁ vipulaṁ yaśo dhanaṁ na doṣadarśī puruṣaḥ samaśnute ||
ភីष្មៈ បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «សូមឲ្យព្រះមហាក្សត្រស្វែងរកវិធីជោគជ័យតាមរយៈផ្លូវអនុវត្តន៍ជាច្រើនប្រភេទ ហើយកុំឲ្យព្រះអង្គដាក់ចិត្តលើវិធីមិនសមរម្យ។ មនុស្សដែលចូលចិត្តរកកំហុស—ដែលមើលឃើញទោសសូម្បីតែក្នុងអ្នកគ្មានទោស—មិនអាចទទួលបានសម្បត្តិដ៏លេចធ្លោ កិត្តិយសធំធេង ឬទ្រព្យសម្បត្តិច្រើនឡើយ»។
