प्रावषीवासितग्रीवो मज्जेत निशि निर्जने । मायूरेण गुणेनैव स्त्रीभिश्चालक्षितश्चरेत्
prāvaṣīvāsita-grīvo majjeta niśi nirjane | māyūreṇa guṇenaiva strībhiś cālakṣitaś caret |
ភីષ្មៈបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ដូចមយូរ ដែលកពស់របស់វាសើមដោយភ្លៀង ហើយលាក់ខ្លួនស្ងៀមស្ងាត់នៅពេលយប់ក្នុងទីឯកោ—ដូច្នោះដែរ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រនៅរដូវវស្សា មិនគួរចេញដំណើរទៅវាយសត្រូវទេ តែគួរស្នាក់នៅក្នុងព្រះរាជវាំងដោយមិនឲ្យគេឃើញ មានការពារ និងការប្រុងប្រយ័ត្ន។ យកលក្ខណៈរបស់មយូរជាគំរូ គួរធ្វើចលនាដោយមិនឲ្យគេកត់សម្គាល់ សូម្បីតែស្ត្រី—រក្សាការសម្ងាត់ និងការអត់ធ្មត់»។
