अहो जीवितमाकाडुक्षेन्नेद्शो वधमर्हति । सुदुर्लभा: सुपुरुषा: संग्रामेष्वपलायिन:
aho jīvitam ākāṅkṣen nedṛśo vadham arhati | sudurlabhāḥ supuruṣāḥ saṅgrāmeṣv apalāyinaḥ ||
ភីស្មាបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «អូហ៍! សត្វមានជីវិតទាំងអស់ប្រាថ្នារក្សាជីវិតរបស់ខ្លួន; ដូច្នេះ បុរសប្រភេទនេះមិនសមគួរត្រូវសម្លាប់ឡើយ។ ពិតប្រាកដណាស់ ក្នុងលោកនេះ អ្នកមានគុណធម៌ដែលមិនបង្ហាញខ្នងក្នុងសង្គ្រាម គឺកម្រណាស់»។
