प्रहरिष्यन् प्रियं ब्रूयात् प्रहरन्नपि भारत | प्रहत्य च कृपायीत शोचन्निव रुदन्निव
praharīṣyan priyaṁ brūyāt praharann api bhārata | prahatya ca kṛpāyīta śocann iva rudann iva ||
ភីស្មាបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ឱ កូនចៅភរត! ទោះជាកំពុងត្រៀមវាយ និងទោះជាកំពុងវាយក៏ដោយ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រគួរនិយាយតែពាក្យផ្អែមល្ហែម។ ហើយបន្ទាប់ពីវាយដួលសត្រូវហើយ ក៏គួរបង្ហាញមេត្តាករុណា—បង្ហាញទុក្ខសោក ដូចជាកំពុងសោកសៅ និងយំ»។
