Chapter 59: Baladeva’s Censure, Keśava’s Restraint, and Yudhiṣṭhira’s Moral Accounting
तस्यावहासस्य फलमप्य त्वं समवाप्नुहि | “खोटी बुद्धिवाले मूर्ख! तूने पहले मुझे “बैल
tasyāvahāsasya phalam apy adya tvaṃ samavāpnuhi | “khoṭī-buddhi-vāle mūrkha! tvayā pūrvaṃ māṃ ‘baila, baila’ iti uktvā ca eka-vastra-dhāriṇīṃ rajasvalāṃ draupadīṃ sabhāṃ nītvā asmākaṃ upahāsaḥ kṛtaḥ, sarveṣu asmāsu ca kaṭu-vacanāni uktāni; tasya upahāsasya phalaṃ adya tvaṃ prāpnuhi”
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយ៖ «ឥឡូវនេះ អ្នកត្រូវទទួលផលនៃការចំអកនោះ។ ឱ មនុស្សល្ងង់ មានបញ្ញាខុសឆ្គង! កាលពីមុន អ្នកបានចំអកខ្ញុំដោយហៅថា ‘គោ! គោ!’ ហើយបាននាំដ្រោបទី—ស្លៀកតែសម្លៀកបំពាក់តែមួយ និងកំពុងមានរដូវ—ចូលមកក្នុងសភារាជ ដើម្បីធ្វើឲ្យពួកយើងក្លាយជារឿងសើច ហើយបានបាញ់ពាក្យក្រអឺតក្រទមដ៏ជូរចត់ដាក់មនុស្សទាំងអស់។ ថ្ងៃនេះ ចូរទទួលវិបាកនៃការប្រមាថ និងការចំអកនោះចុះ!»
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores karmic moral causality: public humiliation, cruel speech, and ridicule—especially against the vulnerable—return as consequences. Ethical failure in speech and conduct becomes a cause of later suffering.
Sanjaya reports a denunciation in which the speaker reminds an opponent of earlier insults and the outrage of bringing Draupadi into the assembly in a state of indignity, declaring that the time has come to reap the result of that past mockery.
