शल्यपर्व — चतुर्विंशोऽध्यायः | Śalya Parva, Chapter 24: Disruption of Kaurava Formations and the Elephant Encirclement
“मधुकुलभूषण! भीष्मजीने जो सच्ची और हितकर बात बतायी थी, उसे भी उस बुद्धिहीन दुर्योधनने नहीं माना ।।
sañjaya uvāca | madhukula-bhūṣaṇa! bhīṣmeṇa yā satyā hitakarī ca vāk proktā, tām api sa buddhihīno duryodhanaḥ nābhyagṛhṇāt || tasmiṃs tu tumule bhīṣme pracyute dharaṇītale | na jāne kāraṇaṃ kiṃ tu yena yuddham avartata ||
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយថា៖ «ឱ អលង្ការនៃវង្សមធុ! សូម្បីតែពាក្យណែនាំដែលពិតប្រាកដ និងមានប្រយោជន៍ ដែលភីष្មបាននិយាយ ក៏ដុរយោធនៈដែលគ្មានបញ្ញា មិនបានទទួលយកឡើយ។ ហើយនៅពេលមានភាពចលាចលដ៏គួរឱ្យខ្លាចនោះ ភីष្មបានដួលលើផែនដី ខ្ញុំក៏មិនអាចដឹងបានថា ដោយហេតុអ្វីបានជាសង្គ្រាមនៅតែបន្តទៅទៀត»។
