दहंस्तस्थौ महाबाहु: पाण्डवानां महाचमूम् । राजन! समरांगणमें धूमरहित अग्निके समान प्रज्वलित होनेवाला महाबाहु कर्ण भी पाण्डवोंकी विशाल सेनाको दग्ध करता हुआ स्थिरभावसे खड़ा रहा
sañjaya uvāca | dahaṁstasthau mahābāhuḥ pāṇḍavānāṁ mahācamūm | rājan samārāṅgaṇe dhūmarahita-agnike samānaḥ prajvalito mahābāhuḥ karṇo 'pi pāṇḍavānāṁ viśālāṁ senāṁ dagdhvā sthirabhāvena tiṣṭhaty eva |
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយ៖ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រា! នៅលើសមរភូមិ វីរបុរសដៃខ្លាំងបានឈរយ៉ាងមាំមួន កំពុងដុតឆេះកងទ័ពដ៏ធំទូលាយរបស់បណ្ឌវ។ ដូចភ្លើងគ្មានផ្សែងដែលឆេះរលោងពេញកម្លាំង ករណៈដៃខ្លាំងក៏ឈរយ៉ាងស្ថិតស្ថេរ ដុតបំផ្លាញសេនាធំរបស់បណ្ឌវ—រូបភាពនៃសង្គ្រាមដែលកម្លាំងនិងភាពមិនរអាក់រអួលក្លាយជាទាំងសមត្ថភាព និងគ្រោះថ្នាក់។
