अब मुझे इस जीवनसे तथा राज्यसे क्या प्रयोजन है? जब कि आज युद्धमें शोभा पानेवाले कर्णने मुझे इस प्रकार क्षत-विक्षत कर डाला है
adya me jīvitena rājyena ca kiṁ prayojanam? yato ’dya yuddhe śobhāṁ prāptavān karṇaḥ mām evaṁ kṣata-vikṣataṁ kṛtavān.
យុធិષ્ઠិរ បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ឥឡូវនេះ ជីវិត និងរាជ្យមានប្រយោជន៍អ្វីសម្រាប់ខ្ញុំទៀត? នៅពេលដែលថ្ងៃនេះ ករណៈ—អ្នកស្វែងរកកិត្តិយសលើសមរភូមិ—បានធ្វើឲ្យខ្ញុំរងរបួសយ៉ាងធ្ងន់ធ្ងរ និងខូចខាតដល់រាងកាយដល់ថ្នាក់នេះ»។
