ज्यातलनत्रेषुशब्दांश्न शृणु कर्ण महात्मनाम् | “कर्ण! बाणोंके भाँति-भाँतिके शब्द, मनुष्यों, घोड़ों और रथोंके कोलाहल तथा महामनस्वी वीरोंकी प्रत्यंचा और दस्तानोंके शब्द सुनो
Sañjaya uvāca: jyātalanatreṣuśabdāṃś ca śṛṇu karṇa mahātmanām | karṇa! bāṇānāṃ bhānti-bhāntike śabdān manuṣyāśva-ratha-kolāhalaṃ ca mahāmanasvī-vīrāṇāṃ pratyancā-dastāna-śabdāṃś ca śṛṇu ||
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយ៖ «ស្តាប់ទៅ កರ್ಣា អំពីសំឡេងរបស់វីរបុរសចិត្តធំៗ—សំឡេងខ្សែធ្នូតឹង និងសំឡេងឧបករណ៍ការពារដែលប៉ះទង្គិច; សំឡេងព្រួញហួច និងធ្លាក់បុកជាច្រើនបែប; ហើយសំឡេងរំខាននៃមនុស្ស សេះ និងរទេះ។ ស្តាប់ទៅថា សមរភូមិខ្លួនវាផ្ទាល់កំពុងប្រកាសចិត្តសម្រេច និងសមត្ថភាពរបស់អ្នកដែលបានចូលទៅក្នុងកាតព្វកិច្ចសង្គ្រាមដ៏សាហាវនេះ»។
