बा्स्पत्य: सुविहितो नायकेन विपश्चिता । नृत्यतीव महाव्यूह: परेषां भयमादधत्
bārhaspatyaḥ suvihito nāyakena vipaścitā | nṛtyatīva mahāvyūhaḥ pareṣāṃ bhayam ādadat ||
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយ៖ មហាវ្យូហៈដ៏ធំនោះ—ដែលមេបញ្ជាការប្រាជ្ញា បានរៀបចំយ៉ាងម៉ត់ចត់ តាមយុទ្ធវិធីដែលព្រះព្រហស្បតិបានបង្រៀន—ហាក់ដូចរាំលើសមរភូមិ ខណៈដែលវាបង្កើតភ័យខ្លាចក្នុងចិត្តសត្រូវ។
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights that in warfare, disciplined organization guided by learned counsel is itself a force: a well-designed formation can intimidate and destabilize the enemy psychologically. Ethically, it points to the power—and responsibility—of intelligent leadership, since strategy can magnify harm even before direct combat.
Sañjaya describes a massive battle-array on the Kaurava side, arranged according to the Bṛhaspati tradition of tactics by a wise commander (contextually, under Karṇa’s command). The formation advances with coordinated, almost dance-like motion, and its very appearance and movement spreads fear among the opposing army.
