उत्पातवर्णनम् (Utpāta-varṇanam) — Catalogue of Portents
इष्टा वाच: प्रसृता वायसानां सम्प्रस्थितानां च गमिष्यतां च । ये पृष्ठतस्ते त्वरयन्ति राजन् ये चाग्रतस्ते प्रतिषेधयन्ति
iṣṭā vācaḥ prasṛtā vāyasānāṃ samprasthitānāṃ ca gamiṣyatāṃ ca | ye pṛṣṭhatas te tvarayanti rājan ye cāgratas te pratiṣedhayanti ||
វ្យាសបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «ពេលមនុស្សកំពុងចេញដំណើរ ឬទើបត្រៀមចេញដំណើរ ហើយសំឡេងក្អែកដ៏ផ្អែមល្ហែមលាតសន្ធឹងជុំវិញ—គេយកជាសញ្ញានៃសេចក្តីសម្រេចជោគជ័យ។ ព្រះរាជា! ក្អែកដែលហៅពីខាងក្រោយ ដូចជាជំរុញឲ្យប្រញាប់ទៅមុខ ដូចជាប្រាប់ថាបានសម្រេច; តែក្អែកដែលហៅពីខាងមុខ ដូចជារារាំង ដូចជាព្រមានមិនឲ្យចូលទៅសង្គ្រាម»។
