उत्पातवर्णनम् (Utpāta-varṇanam) — Catalogue of Portents
व्यास उवाच प्रसन्नभा: पावक ऊर्ध्वरश्मि: प्रदक्षिणावर्त शिखो विधूम: । पुण्या गन्धाश्चाहुतीनां प्रवान्ति जयस्यैतद् भाविनो रूपमाहु:
vyāsa uvāca | prasannabhāḥ pāvaka ūrdhvaraśmiḥ pradakṣiṇāvartaśikho vidhūmaḥ | puṇyā gandhāś cāhutīnāṃ pravānti jayasya etad bhāvino rūpam āhuḥ ||
វ្យាស បានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «នៅពេលភ្លើងយញ្ញមានពន្លឺស្អាត ស្ងប់ស្ងាត់; អណ្តាតភ្លើងឡើងលើ បត់វង់ទៅខាងស្តាំ ហើយគ្មានផ្សែងសោះ; ហើយអាហុតីដែលបោះចូលទៅ បញ្ចេញក្លិនក្រអូបបរិសុទ្ធ រាលដាលតាមខ្យល់ទៅគ្រប់ទិស—នេះហៅថា ជាសញ្ញាដែលមើលឃើញនៃជ័យជម្នះដែលកំពុងមកដល់»
