Educational Q&A

Action becomes non-binding when it is done as yajña—an offering aligned with sacred order and duty—without personal grasping for results. Actions driven by self-centered aims create karmic bondage; therefore one should work with detachment and an offering-attitude.

In the battlefield dialogue, Krishna is instructing Arjuna on how to act without being trapped by the consequences of action. He reframes duty as sacrificial service: Arjuna should perform his prescribed responsibilities without attachment, thereby avoiding karmic entanglement.
