Shloka 37

“मैंने, विदुरने, द्रोणाचार्यने, परशुरामजीने, भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णने तथा संजयने भी बारंबार युद्ध न करनेकी सलाह दी है; परंतु दुर्योधनने हमलोगोंकी बातें नहीं सुनीं ।।

sañjaya uvāca | parītābuddhir hi visaṃjñakalpo duryodhano na ca tac chraddadhāti | sa śeṣyate vai nihataś cirāya śāstrātigo bhīmabalābhibhūtaḥ ||

សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយ៖ យុទ្ធិષ્઎នៈ (ទុរយោធន) មានបញ្ញាប្រែប្រួលទៅជាខុសឆ្គង ដូចជាមនុស្សអស្មារតី ហេតុនេះគេមិនជឿលើពាក្យដែលបាននិយាយឡើយ។ គេរំលោភព្រំដែនដែលសាស្ត្រ (śāstra) បានកំណត់ ហើយនឹងត្រូវកម្លាំងរបស់ភីមសេន (Bhīma) គ្រប់គ្រង បណ្តាលឲ្យត្រូវសម្លាប់ និងដេកយូរលើសមរភូមិ។ ដូច្នេះ ទោះបីវិទុរ ដ្រូណា បរśុរាម ព្រះស្រីក្រឹṣṇa និងខ្ញុំផ្ទាល់ បានណែនាំម្តងហើយម្តងទៀតឲ្យកុំធ្វើសង្គ្រាម ក៏គេមិនព្រមស្តាប់—ជ្រើសរើសការរឹងរូសជំនួសធម្មៈ ហើយនាំវិនាសមកលើខ្លួនឯង។
