वैशम्पायन उवाच यज्ञस्य विधिमग्र्यं वै फलं चापि नराधिप । गदत: शृणु मे राजन् यथावदिह भारत
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: yajñasya vidhim agryaṃ vai phalaṃ cāpi narādhipa | gadataḥ śṛṇu me rājan yathāvad iha bhārata ||
វៃសម្បាយនៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «ឱ ព្រះមហាក្សត្រនៃមនុស្ស ឱ ព្រះរាជាភារតៈ សូមស្តាប់ពាក្យខ្ញុំ។ នៅទីនេះ ខ្ញុំនឹងពណ៌នាតាមលំដាប់ដ៏ត្រឹមត្រូវ អំពីវិធីបូជាយញ្ញដ៏ប្រសើរបំផុត និងផលរបស់វា ដើម្បីឲ្យព្រះអង្គយល់ថា កម្មធម៌នាំមកនូវផលសមស្របរបស់ខ្លួន»។
