Abhimanyu’s Śrāddha; Vyāsa’s Assurance of the Unborn Heir (अभिमन्योः श्राद्धं तथा गर्भरक्षणोपदेशः)
यत्र मे हृदयं दुःखाच्छतथा न विदीर्यते । “वृष्णिनन्दन! अभिमन्युकी आँखें ठीक तुम्हारे ही समान सुन्दर थीं। हाय! वह रणभूमिमें शत्रुओंद्वारा कैसे मारा गया? जान पड़ता है
yatra me hṛdayaṃ duḥkhāc chatathā na vidīryate |
វៃសម្បាយនៈបាននិយាយថា៖ «ហេតុអ្វីបានជា បេះដូងរបស់ខ្ញុំ ទោះត្រូវទុក្ខវេទនាវាយប្រហារក៏ដោយ មិនបែកជារយបំណែក? ឱ កូនចៅវ្រឹෂ್ಣិ! ភ្នែករបស់អភិមន្យូស្រស់ស្អាតដូចភ្នែករបស់អ្នក។ អាឡាស! គេត្រូវសត្រូវសម្លាប់នៅលើសមរភូមិបានយ៉ាងដូចម្តេច? ហាក់ដូចជា ពេលវេលាដែលកំណត់សម្រាប់មនុស្សម្នាក់មិនទាន់ពេញលេញទេ ការស្លាប់គឺពិបាកជួបយ៉ាងខ្លាំង—ហេតុនេះ ទោះបានឮដំណឹងដ៏សាហាវនេះ ក៏បេះដូងខ្ញុំមិនបែកបាក់ដោយសោកសៅឡើយ»។
