Adhyāya 40: Brahmā on Mahān (The Great Principle) and the All-Pervading Puruṣa
विष्णुरेवादिसर्गेषु स्वयम्भूर्भवति प्रभु:
viṣṇur evādi-sargeṣu svayambhūr bhavati prabhuḥ |
វាយុបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «នៅក្នុងសೃષ્ટិដើមកាលទាំងឡាយ ព្រះវិṣṇុ—ព្រះអម្ចាស់ដ៏អធិបតី—ជាព្រះដែលបង្ហាញខ្លួនដោយខ្លួនឯង (svayambhū)»។ ធម៌បង្រៀននេះបញ្ជាក់ថា ព្រះអធិទេវមិនកើតពីហេតុខាងក្រៅឡើយ; ដោយព្រះឆន្ទៈរបស់ព្រះអង្គ ព្រះអង្គបង្ហាញខ្លួននៅដើមសೃષ્ટិ។ អ្នកណាដឹងព្រះអម្ចាស់ដ៏អតិបរមានោះ—ស្ថិតនៅក្នុង «គុហា» នៃបញ្ញា ជាអធិបតីខាងក្នុង មានរូបជាសកល ជាបុរសបុរាណ រលោងដូចមាស (hiraṇmaya) និងជាគោលដៅខ្ពស់បំផុតរបស់អ្នកប្រាជ្ញ—អ្នកនោះឆ្លងផុតព្រំដែនបញ្ញាធម្មតា ហើយឈានដល់ស្ថានភាពខ្ពស់បំផុត។

The verse teaches that Viṣṇu, the Supreme Lord, is self-manifest at the beginning of creation—independent and sovereign.
