वर्णतो गुणतश्चैव योनितश्वैव तत्त्वतः । सर्वमेतत्तमो विप्रा: कीर्तितं वो यथाविधि,विप्रवरो! वर्ण, गुण, योनि और तत्त्वके अनुसार मैंने आपसे तमोगुणका पूरा-पूरा यथावत् वर्णन किया
varṇato guṇataś caiva yonitaś caiva tattvataḥ | sarvam etat tamo viprāḥ kīrtitaṃ vo yathāvidhi ||
ព្រះវាយុទេវមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ឱ ព្រះព្រាហ្មណ៍ទាំងឡាយ! ឥឡូវនេះ ខ្ញុំបានពោលប្រាប់អ្នកទាំងអស់គ្នា—តាមលំដាប់ និងត្រឹមត្រូវ—អំពីតាមស (tamas) ទាំងស្រុង ដោយចាត់ថ្នាក់តាមវណ្ណៈ (varṇa), តាមគុណ (guṇa), តាមយោនី/កំណើត (yoni), និងតាមសច្ចធាតុ (tattva) របស់វា»។
