अपन कराता बछ। रस: षटत्रिशो<ध्याय: ब्रह्माजीके द्वारा तमोगुणका
brahmovāca | tad avyaktam anudriktaṁ sarvavyāpi dhruvaṁ sthiram | navadvāraṁ puraṁ vidyāt triguṇaṁ pañcadhātukam |
ព្រះព្រហ្មមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «អវ្យក្តប្រក្រឹតិ នោះ—មិនរងការរំខាន ទូលំទូលាយគ្រប់ទី មិនរលាយ និងមាំមួន—គួរយល់ថាជាមូលដ្ឋាន។ ពេលគុណទាំងបីចាកចេញពីសមតុល្យ វាប្រែទៅជាធាតុបញ្ចភូត ហើយពីនោះកើតឡើង ‘ទីក្រុងមានទ្វារប្រាំបួន’ (កាយមានជីវិត)»។

Creation and embodiment are explained through Sāṅkhya categories: the unmanifest Prakṛti remains stable in guṇa-equilibrium, but when the guṇas become imbalanced, the five elements arise and the embodied ‘nine-gated city’ (the body) is formed.
A doctrinal discourse is underway: Brahmā instructs sages about the metaphysical origin of the body and the cosmos, using the image of the body as a city with nine gates and grounding it in the dynamics of the three guṇas.
