Abhaya-Itihāsa: Karma, Indriyas, and the Non-sensory Brahman
Brāhmaṇī–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda
पृथिवी वायुराकाशमापो ज्योतिश्न पठचमम् । मनो बुद्धिश्व सप्तैता योनिरित्येव शब्दिता:,'पृथ्वी, वायु, आकाश, जल, तेज, मन और बुद्धि--ये सात योनि कहलाते हैं
pṛthivī vāyur ākāśam āpo jyotiś ca pañcamam | mano buddhiś ca saptaitā yonir ity eva śabditāḥ ||
ព្រះវាយុទេវបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ផែនដី ខ្យល់ អាកាស ទឹក និងពន្លឺជាទីប្រាំ; ហើយទាំងចិត្ត និងបញ្ញា—ទាំងប្រាំពីរនេះ ត្រូវបានហៅថា ‘យោនី’ (ប្រភព/គ្រាប់កំណើត)»។
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse enumerates seven fundamental sources (yonis) of manifested experience: five elemental principles (earth, air, space, water, light/energy) plus the inner instruments of mind and intellect. It encourages seeing embodied life as arising from these constituents, supporting discrimination between the true self and its material-mental bases.
Vāyu-deva is speaking and instructing by listing the seven ‘yonis’—a doctrinal enumeration used to explain how beings and experiences arise through elemental and psychological principles.
