नारद उवाच स्थिरीभूय महाराज शृणु वृत्तं यथातथम् । यथा श्रुतं च दृष्टं च मया तस्मिंस्तपोवने,नारदजीने कहा--महाराज! मैंने उस तपोवनमें जो कुछ देखा और सुना है, वह सारा वृत्तान्त ठीक-ठीक बतला रहा हूँ। तुम स्थिरचित्त होकर सुनो
nārada uvāca
sthirībhūya mahārāja śṛṇu vṛttaṃ yathātatham |
yathā śrutaṃ ca dṛṣṭaṃ ca mayā tasmiṃs tapovane ||
នារទៈ បានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «ឱ មហារាជា សូមទ្រង់តាំងចិត្តឲ្យនឹងនរ ហើយស្តាប់រឿងរ៉ាវតាមដែលវាបានកើតឡើងពិតៗ។ ខ្ញុំនឹងពោលប្រាប់ពីអ្វីដែលខ្ញុំផ្ទាល់បានឮ និងបានឃើញ នៅក្នុងព្រៃតបស្សានោះ»។
