Dāna–Tapaḥ Praśaṃsā and Gṛhastha-Upadeśa
Maitreya
ते5पि यस्मात् प्रभावेण हता: क्षत्रियपुंगवा: । सम्प्राप्तास्ते गतिं पुण्यां तस्मान्मा शोच पुत्रक
te 'pi yasmāt prabhāveṇa hatāḥ kṣatriya-puṅgavāḥ | samprāptās te gatiṁ puṇyāṁ tasmān mā śoca putraka ||
ភីष្មបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ពួកក្សត្រិយដ៏លើសគេ ដែលត្រូវបានសម្លាប់ដោយអំណាចរបស់គេ ក៏បានទៅដល់គោលដៅដ៏បរិសុទ្ធដែរ។ ដូច្នេះ កូនអើយ កុំសោកស្តាយឡើយ។ អ្នកណាដែលបោះបង់ជីវិតក្នុងសមរភូមិ ក្នុងកាតព្វកិច្ចក្សត្រិយ តាមប្រពៃណីគេរាប់ថាបានទៅដល់ផ្លូវដ៏ខ្ពង់ខ្ពស់ក្រោយស្លាប់; ហើយដូចគ្នានេះដែរ វីរបុរសដ៏ឧត្តមទាំងឡាយ ដែលបានដួលលើសមរភូមិនេះ ដោយបង្ហាញកម្លាំងរបស់ខ្លួន ក៏បានទៅដល់ស្ថានភាពមានបុណ្យ។ ហេតុនេះ សេចក្តីសោកមិនសមស្របចំពោះពួកគេឡើយ»។
