Khāṇḍava Prelude
चित्रवाहनदायादं धर्मात् पौरवनन्दनम् | पाण्डवानां प्रियं पुत्रं तस्मात् पालय सर्वदा,“यह धर्मतः चित्रवाहनका पुत्र है; किंतु शरीरसे पूरुवंशको आनन्दित करनेवाला है। अतः पाण्डवोंके इस प्रिय पुत्रका तुम सदा पालन करो
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
Citravāhanadāyādaṃ dharmāt Pauravanandanam |
Pāṇḍavānāṃ priyaṃ putraṃ tasmāt pālaya sarvadā ||
វៃសម្បាយនៈបាននិយាយថា៖ «កុមារនេះ តាមធម៌ គឺជាអ្នកស្នងមរតករបស់ ចិត្រវាហនៈ; ប៉ុន្តែដោយរូបកាយ និងវត្តមានរបស់គាត់ គាត់នាំមកនូវសេចក្តីរីករាយដល់វង្សពោរវៈ។ ដូច្នេះ ចូរអ្នកការពារគាត់ជានិច្ច—កូនប្រុសជាទីស្រឡាញ់របស់បណ្ឌវៈទាំងឡាយ»។
