अमावास्यां तु सहिता ऋषय: संशितव्रता: । ब्रह्माणं द्रष्टकामास्ते सम्प्रतस्थुर्महर्षय:,एक दिन अमावास्या तिथिको कठोर व्रतका पालन करनेवाले बहुत-से ऋषि-महर्षि एकत्र हो ब्रह्माजीके दर्शनकी इच्छासे ब्रह्मलोकके लिये प्रस्थित हुए
amāvāsyāṃ tu sahitā ṛṣayaḥ saṃśitavratāḥ | brahmāṇaṃ draṣṭukāmās te sampratasthur maharṣayaḥ ||
វៃសម្បាយនៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «នៅថ្ងៃអមាវាស្យា ឥសីជាច្រើន—អ្នកប្រកាន់វ្រតដ៏តឹងរឹង—បានប្រមូលផ្តុំគ្នា។ ដោយប្រាថ្នាចង់បានទស្សនាព្រះព្រហ្មា ព្រះមហាឥសីទាំងនោះបានចេញដំណើរទៅកាន់ព្រហ្មលោក។»
